The Business Hub

We travel for work often enough to know how frustrating hotel "business centres" usually are — a converted storage closet with one unsteady chair and a shared desktop computer from five years ago. When we built the Business Hub at DHR, we designed the space we actually wanted to work in when we were on the road.

The Hub is a dedicated, acoustic-treated room separate from the bedrooms and the bar. It features four individual workstations equipped with Herman Miller-style ergonomic chairs, ample desk space, and universally configured power outlets (UK, EU, and USB-C direct). Two of the workstations are electronically height-adjustable for standing work.

Connectivity is the priority here. The Hub runs on a dedicated, uncontended fibre line separate from the general guest Wi-Fi. It is backed up by an automatic failover 5G router. If you have a critical video conference call to make to London or New York at 3am, this is the room you make it from. 4K monitors and high-quality ring lights are available to borrow from the front desk.

A connected eight-person boardroom with a smart presentation screen is available for private meetings. Hotel guests get two hours of boardroom access included in their stay (subject to availability; book at reception). Printing, scanning, and binding services are available through the concierge.

Access: The Business Hub is open 24/7. It is complimentary for all DHR guests. Non-guests can purchase a daily co-working pass which includes high-speed access and bottomless Kenyan tea or batch-brew coffee from Azure.
